Here are some shots from Palestina, Guatemala.  This is where Beth is a Peace Corp. volunteer.  It was a great little town.  There is a shot of one of the famous chicken buses and Garret walking through the market looking like a giant.

Watching this parade in Xela was a wonderful experience.  Guatemala seemed to be pretty conservative and this was the first gay rights parade in Xela.  These people were literally putting their lives on the line to march for their rights.  No one was sure how the city would react to this parade through the main square. It was peaceful and the people of the city were extremely respectful.  The marches were very passionate and well dressed.  We lost our friend Beth for a while only to find her marching in the  parade.  It was great.

These photos are from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.  In Guatemala they call it Xela.  These photos are from a visit to the market with our friend Beth.  You can see Garret bargaining for the first time.  There’s also a photo of Poopy, the dog in Casa Renaissance hostel.  It was one of our favorite hostels.

Here are some photos from Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.
